Everything is bigger in Texas, including scholarships! Here is a list of scholarships for residents of the Lone Star State:
The Lone Star State Scholars Award (Texas residents, all grade levels.)
Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education (Multiple Scholarships.)
British American Foundation of Texas Susan Howard Community Service Award (Be a resident of Texas or the United Kingdom; Be enrolled in full-time education within the Texas or UK education system; Be aged between 11 and 21; Currently work on an inspiring community service project or have done so within the past 12 months; Come from a low-income household.)
British American Foundation of Texas Undergraduate Award (Be enrolled in full-time education within the Texas education system; Major in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or Business-related subjects (including Management, HR, Marketing, Finance, Accounting etc); Be accepted to attend a 2-year or 4-year public college in Texas; Come from a low-income household.)
Community Foundation of West Texas (Multiple scholarships.)
Credit Union of Texas Member Scholarship Program (Open to high school seniors, current college students, and members.)
Dallas Jewish Community Foundation (Multiple scholarships.)
The Dick Laursen Memorial Scholarship (This supports full-time college students, including those entering college, continuing their education, or pursuing graduate studies. While a recommendation from a TAIA member is beneficial, it’s not mandatory.)
DMP Servant's Heart Scholarship (Attend high school in one of the following Texas counties: Ft. Bend, Harris, Waller, Montgomery, Galveston.
East Texas Community Foundation (Multiple scholarships.)
Eddleman-McFarland Scholarship (Available to residents of Tarrant or Parker Counties.)
Estelle Beaumont Ellison Scholarship (To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must be a full-time student, of good moral character, exhibit academic excellence (based on the ability of each student), evidence financial need, and regularly participate in a Christian church. Applicants are not required to be a member of Christ Episcopal Church, however, if an applicant is not a member, a reference from a member is required. All applicants must also be residents of the greater San Antonio area.)
Federation of Houston Professional Women Educational Foundation (FHPWEF) (Applicants must be female, a Texas resident, and must plan to attend a Texas College or University or an accredited online college or university.)
Forth Worth Scottish Rite (It is not required that the student have any affiliation with Masonry.)
George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation (Houston area high school seniors.)
Hill Country Master Gardeners Horticulture Scholarship (undergraduate or graduate students at Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tarleton State or Stephen F. Austin State Universities pursuing a degree in the horticultural sciences.)
The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium (Be of Hispanic/Latino heritage, reside in Texas.)
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ Scholarship (Be a U.S. citizen and Texas resident. Graduating high school senior from an eligible school. Plan to attend an accredited, not-for-profit university in the State of Texas.)
The Josie Washington Memorial Scholarship (Must reside in and attend school in Dallas County.)
The Juanita Buchanan Undergraduate Academic Scholarship (Must be a high school senior receiving dual college credit (minimum of 6 hours) or an undergraduate matriculating at an accredited college or university (2 or 4 year) within Dallas County.)
Lifting Individuals Through Education (LITE) (Multiple scholarships.)
The Mark Kilroy Foundation (MKF) (Texas college and trade school scholarships to eligible Santa Fe, Alvin, Angleton High School, Ball, Brazosport, Brazoswood, Columbia, Danbury, Dickinson, Friendswood, Hitchcock, La Marque, Manvel, Sweeny and Texas City High School seniors, graduates and GEDs; and Salvation Army Houston ARC graduates.)
Mary Hill Davis Scholarship (Texas Baptist ethnic/minority students who will serve as future lay and vocational ministry leaders in Texas Baptist ethnic/minority churches.)
Media Alliance of Houston (Multiple scholarships.)
Regions Riding Forward Scholarship (Legal U.S. resident of one of the Eligible States: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.)
Rose Lafferty and Flora Foust Educational Trust (Available to residents of Tarrant or Erath Counties.)
Southwest Community Foundation (Multiple scholarships.)
The Texas First Program (Texas’ top students can accelerate their postsecondary path and earn up to a year in scholarship dollars to attend any Texas public institution of higher education, including colleges, universities, and technical colleges.)
Texas Music Educators Association (Multiple scholarships.)
Trey Porter Law Scholarship (Preference given to Texas students, but open to students nationwide.)
VAMOS Scholarship (High School Senior in Hidalgo, Starr or Cameron County.)
Whataburger Feeding Student Success Scholarship (Must either live in or be planning to attend school in one of the brand's 17-state footprint. These states include: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas.)
