Many Florida residents are familiar with the Bright Futures Scholarship. But did you know that there are other scholarships just for Florida residents? Here is a list of scholarships for residents of the Sunshine State:
"Sunshine State Scholars Award" (This scholarship is open to high school, college, and graduate students residing or attending school in Florida.)
Apollo Beach Woman's Club (ABWC) Scholarship (Eligible students must reside in Apollo Beach.)
Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties Scholarships (Multiple scholarships available.)
Eda & Cliff Viner Community Scholars Foundation Scholarship (High School students in South Palm Beach County.)
Florida Engineering Society Scholarship (High school seniors.)
Florida Farm to School Essay Contest (Florida students in grades 9 – 12, including those in public, private and charter schools, as well as virtual and home-schooled students.)
Florida Green Building Coalition Scholarship (Citizen or legal resident of the United States and a resident of Florida currently attending a Florida public or private college or university.)
Florida Retired Educators Foundation (FREF) Scholarship (The scholarship requires recipients to teach in the State of Florida for one year for every year the scholarship was awarded. If not, they must repay any scholarship monies received.)
Foundation for Seminole County Schools Scholarships (Every graduating senior from a high school of Seminole County Public Schools is eligible to apply.)
George Snow Scholarships (High school seniors attending school in Palm Beach County or Broward County. All home-schooled students who are zoned for attendance at any Palm Beach County or Broward County High School qualify.)
Hearts for Community Service Scholarship (Available to student residents from the following Warrick Dunn Charities, Inc. markets: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin who volunteer in their communities.)
Jeanette M. Russell Jazz Scholarship Program (Applicants must be Florida residents who are either current or enrolling college students, graduating high school seniors, high school students or middle school students.)
Junior League of Manatee County Youth Non-Profit Scholarship Program (Must be a graduating high school senior residing in Manatee County.)
Kids’ Chance of Florida (KCFL) Scholarship (Provides college scholarships to the children of Florida workers who have been severely or fatally injured in a workplace-related accident.)
Miami Dolphins Nat Moore Scholarship (Scholarships are awarded annually to graduating high school seniors from a Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe or Palm Beach County high school.)
Oviedo-Winter Springs Lions Club Scholarship (High school seniors who attended Paul J. Hagerty High School, Oviedo High School or Winter Springs High School.)
Pearl Mae Foundation (Multiple scholarships.)
PenAir Credit Union Scholarship (High school seniors who are primary members of PenAir Credit Union.)
Regions Riding Forward Scholarship (Legal U.S. resident of one of the Eligible States: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.)
Second Chance of Florida Foundation (Open to any high school senior, college, or graduate student or equivalent.)
Suncoast Music Scholarship (Music scholarships to 9th through 12th grade students who reside in Sarasota or Manatee County.)
Sunshine Opportunity Scholarships (Must attend public or private high schools in the counties of Pinellas or Hillsborough in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.)
Tampa Bay OWIT (TBOWIT) Scholarships (Tampa Bay students.)
Whataburger Feeding Student Success Scholarship (Must either live in or be planning to attend school in one of the brand's 17-state footprint. These states include: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas.)
